Hello, Early Birds!!

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by the class website! I thought I’d answer some FAQs before school starts.

What should I do on August 5th?

  • Open up the class website, (the site you’re on right now!). This is where I put all directions, resources, links, etc. every single day. It’s your lifeline to the class, so it’s a good idea to bookmark it!
  • Check your class schedule and the bell schedule, so you know when to show up virtually to each class.

  • In a separate tab, log in to Google Classroom
  • One you’ve launched Google Classroom, you’ll see your classes including World History.
  • You’ll see a Google Meet link. Click on it and I’ll let you into the meeting “room.” If you can’t find it, email me and I’ll send it to you. Make sure you show up during the class period you have World History on your schedule.

What supplies do I need for World History?

We’ll go over supplies on the first day, but if you want to get a head start (and have a shot at the cool notebooks before they’re all gone) here’s a basic list of what should be in your backpack for my class. Even though we are doing things online, these supplies will still be needed as we will still do things with pen and paper!

  • Spiral notebook (any size will do, but three-subject notebooks tend to work the best)
  • pens/pencils
  • crayons or colored pencils
  • glue stick or tape
  • highlighters (optional)
  • sticky tabs (optional)
  • Post-It notes (optional)

What should I have with me on the first day?

  • laptop
  • pen and paper (in case you want to jot down some notes)
  • an open mind
  • a sense of humor
  • a positive attitude
  • the Force

What are we doing on the first day?

We’ll get acquainted, go over some expectations, figure out the technology, and maybe complete an assignment that helps us get to know one another a little better.

What if I miss the first day?

What??? Miss the first day of school? Try not to, but if it’s unavoidable, just check in with me on the second day!
