Experience:

  • This is my 24th year of teaching
  • I’ve taught World History for every of those years
  • I taught at PV for two years before moving to NC
  • I am a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT)

Education:

  • Graduated from Chaparral High School, Class of 1996
  • Bachelor’s Degree from ASU, Class of 2001. Go Sun Devils!

Oh, The Places I’ve Been:

  • Britain, (4 times, including London, Stonehenge, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Lake District, Troussachs, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dover)
  • Ireland (a huge chunk of it including Dublin and the Ring of Kerry)
  • France (Calais and Paris)
  • Italy (twice, including Florence, Pisa, Rome, and Milan)
  • Switzerland (Alps and St. Moritz)
  • Belgium (Brussels, Bruges, Gent)
  • Luxembourg
  • French Polynesia (Bora Bora, Morrea, and Huahine)
  • China (Beijing, Great Wall, Xi’an, Shanghai, Changchun, and so many other regions!)
  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
  • U.S. States – Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Colorado, Utah, South Carolina, Florida, California, and Oregon. Plus, I’ve driven across the U.S. twice, so there are states I’ve just passed through (i.e. Texas, New Mexico, Missouri, etc).

Family:

  • Married with 2 furkids (1 dog and 1 cat)

Music

If it’s good, interesting, or different, I’m all over it. I listen to music from all over the world and in all different languages. (when I travel, I always visit a music store and buy whatever the locals recommend).  My music love also extends to soundtracks for movies and television. I listen to just about anything and don’t really limit myself to specific genres, artists or geographic region, but there are a few artists that always have my attention.

  • BTS (I’m a card carrying, light stick wielding, play it all on repeat ARMY💜)
  • Kpop in general (some faves include The Rose, GOT7, K-Drama OSTs)
  • British Indie rock/pop (primarily Johnny Flynn and Mumford & Sons)
