First Day Stuff

What We Did Today

Hello! 🙂

psssst … I’m the morning person

Welcome to World History!

Even though things still aren’t totally normal, it’s my hope we can build a strong online community and help one another through the learning process. These are extraordinary circumstances and there are so many unknowns, but instead of giving up,  let the uncertainty be a reason for us to rise above it all.

In Class: Intros

Today, we did a quick run through the basics and a little “getting to know you” activity.

Syllabus (link): The syllabus was initially designed for in-person instruction, but most of it stands in terms of expectations and rules. Whether we are in the classroom or online it comes down to this list:

  • Show up
  • Be respectful
  • Communicate
  • Do your work honesty and on time
  • If you need help, ask!

Attendance: It is expected that you attend class each day with your laptop.

Class website: This website is your lifeline to the class. Make it a habit to check it EVERY SINGLE DAY. All directions, resources, scans, notes, and readings are embedded in every post. If you want to know what’s going on, what’s assigned, or need directions this is the place! Bookmark or subscribe to the site!

Google Classroom: Let’s log in and make sure everything works. Use your school email username and password to gain access. This is where we do and turn in most of our assignments.

Assignment: Who I Am

One More Thing: Shake the Dust

It’s been a tough couple of years and the challenges are still coming, so let’s do the best we can to shake the dust.

What To Do Tonight

  • Finish Who I Am
  • Bookmark or subscribe to the class website
  • Log in to Google Classroom and poke around.
